Abstract

This study aims to analyze justice-based student management through the implementation of a student disciplinary court at MTs Negeri 10 Banyuwangi, to examine the forms of educational sanctions applied, and to analyze their implications for the development of student discipline. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The research participants included the principal, the vice principal for student affairs, guidance and counseling teachers, homeroom teachers, and students. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Data analysis followed an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and continuous conclusion drawing. Data credibility was ensured through source and technique triangulation as well as member checking with key informants. The findings indicate that the student disciplinary court has been formally institutionalized as part of justice- and guidance-oriented student management policies. The sanctions implemented are educational, corrective, and rehabilitative in nature, including reflective writing assignments, social service activities, religious guidance, counseling sessions, and mentoring by homeroom teachers. This practice has a positive impact on increasing students’ awareness, responsibility, and discipline, although challenges remain in terms of sustained follow-up mentoring and equal understanding of the disciplinary process among students.
