Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Nusantara Journal of Islamic Studies undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance to the field of Islamic education.
1. Initial Screening
The editorial team conducts a preliminary review to assess scope alignment with the journal, basic structure and formatting, and plagiarism check using standard tools. Manuscripts that meet the basic criteria proceed to the peer review stage.
2. Double-Blind Review
Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the process to ensure impartiality. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality and contribution to the field, theoretical and methodological rigor, clarity of presentation and argumentation, and relevance to Islamic education studies.
3. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial board will make one of the following decisions: Accept without revision, Accept with minor revisions, Revise and resubmit, or Reject. Authors will receive detailed feedback and are expected to respond to reviewers’ comments within the specified revision period.
4. Final Review and Publication
Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated by the editorial team and, if necessary, by the original reviewers. Once accepted, the manuscript proceeds to copyediting, layout, and publication.
